Along with analysing existing film posters that have already been release in the past, i have also taken the same images of a film (In this case The Eye) and manipulated them and played around to see what would look good where and what message will it send to different audiences. To produce this draft, I have used Photoshop and it's tools to create and play around with different fonts, colours, and effects etc...
In this draft I like the red glow around the date of release. It stands out as the poster is mainly black with a white glow. The red outer glow enhances the text - diverting our attention to it.
I also like how the 'Jessica Alba' text is overlapping another text. The faint ghost like text effect may connote that this film could be a spiritual/psychological horror.
When I will product my final film poster i will consider the overlapping text and a glow behind/around text to bring it off the page.
With my film poster i am aiming to make it attractive enough for audiences to look at, but still maintaining that element of mystery, as i don't want the poster to give away the story line.
