Now that the masthead is there i have also included the relevant information around the masthead such as the date, website, and price of the magazine. The typography that these elements use is Tahoma - which is featured in photoshop. The plus sign plced in the bottom left signifies what else is in the magazine - This is known as a plug. the way i got the plus sign looking how it is. I took the image from Google and imported it into photoshop where i changed the fill opacity to 0% and put a red outerglow around it. For the plug i used a different font, just so that it separates from the other fonts and subtly draws the reader in towards it. I have also put a glow on the outside to emphasize it. The typography that the font for this plug uses is Times New Roman. This also goes for the other plug which is placed above the bar code.
